According to Giorgi Surguladze, the Director of the Caucasus Auto Import Company, the demand for second-hand light cars in local and neighboring markets has increased dramatically during the summer.
“The increase in demand is recorded from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia. After the exit of the Western car manufacturers from the Russian market, the demand has increased sharply,” - says Surguladze.
The Caucasus Auto Import Company still has 3000 cars in Georgia to be delivered to the Ukrainian market. These machines were ordered for export to Ukraine before the war, however, due to the hostilities and the difficulty of delivery, only a small number of them are being transported gradually.
In July, the re-export of light vehicles amounted to 9172 units worth of $101.5 million, which in monetary terms is 140% more than the indicator recorded in the same period of the previous year (July 2021 - 5946 units worth of $43 million).
The list of Georgia’s top trading partners in the re-exports for July is as follows:
1. Azerbaijan - 2652 units worth of $30.4 million.
2. Ukraine - 2815 units worth of $28.8 million.
3. Armenia - 1449 units worth of $18 million.
