Uzbekistan’s Fly Khiva airline marked its first commercial passenger flight from Tashkent to Tbilisi on Saturday, arriving at Tbilisi International Airport, which is operated by TAV Georgia.
The new Tbilisi–Tashkent–Tbilisi route will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Boeing 757-300 aircraft.
Fly Khiva, founded in 2023, initially focused on cargo operations with routes across Europe, China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. In December 2024, the airline expanded into passenger services, with Georgia becoming one of its initial destinations in this new phase.
The airline's current fleet includes Boeing 767-300 cargo planes and two Boeing 757-300 passenger jets, each equipped with 22 business class and 203 economy class seats.
Following discussions with TAV Georgia, Fly Khiva plans to begin flights between Tashkent and Batumi starting June 2025, with service twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.
Tbilisi International Airport is expected to welcome eight new airlines in 2025, while Batumi International Airport is set to add two more carriers to its operations.
