Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze announced that intensive work is underway with various ministries to finalise the draft of Georgia’s 2026 state budget.
Kakauridze noted that both the amendments to the 2025 budget and the final version of the 2026 budget will be presented to Parliament within the next two weeks.
“The draft state budget for 2026 is based on a projected 5% economic growth,” he explained. “We are currently collaborating with ministries and parliamentary committees across multiple sectors to refine the final version. The 2026 budget is closely tied to the parameters of the 2025 budget, and we expect certain adjustments to be made to the latter. Within two weeks, we will submit both the amended 2025 budget and the final draft of the 2026 budget to Parliament, incorporating most of the proposals and comments received during the review process.”
According to Kakauridze, the government aims to integrate all initiatives and recommendations proposed by Parliament into the 2026 budget. He added that funding for most agencies is expected to increase, highlighting the Ministry of Infrastructure as a key driver of future economic growth.
“Significant progress has been made on several major projects,” he said. “The final version will also introduce new initiatives, with funding to begin next year. The completed draft will clearly outline all major priorities that can be financed from 2026 onward.”
