After prohibiting the export of American cars to Russia and Belarus, the ban on the export and re-export of cars imported from the European Union to Georgia came into force on September 26.
More specifically, from September 26, regardless of the value of the vehicle, the re-export and export of vehicles with engines larger than 1,900 cubic centimeters, as well as all electric and hybrid vehicles, imported from the European Union to Georgia is prohibited.
According to the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, on August 3, Georgia will continue to take appropriate measures in the direction of international sanctions enforcement.
"The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance reminds you that the list of persons and goods subject to sanctions imposed by the European Union in relation to the restrictive sanctions against the Russian Federation is given in the annexes of the consolidated version of the Council of Europe Regulation (EU) No. 833/2014 of July 31, 2014 (COUNCIL REGULATION (EU) No. 833/2014 of 31 July 2014, concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia's actions destabilizing the situation in Ukraine).

In the said consolidated annex, in the form of the 11th package, an amendment was made to COUNCIL REGULATION (EU) 2023/1214 of 23 June 2023, please see the link:

It should be noted that after the ban imposed on American cars from August 1, the re-export of cars to Russia decreased sharply in August. Despite the fact that the export of cars to Russia has almost doubled compared to the same period last year, official data show that the ban has already affected the rate of car exports to Russia, and in August, compared to previous months, car exports to Russia have decreased.
