The November 7 case was the only one in which the former president of Georgia was sentenced to imprisonment as a measure of restraint.

At today's trial, Judge Nino Elieshvili clarified that the court does not see the need to use detention as a measure of restraint against Saakashvili. As for Zurab Adeishvili and Davit Kezerashvili, who are accused in this case, according to the judge, no new circumstances were presented to cancel the detention, due to which the detention was left unchanged.

The state indictment accuses Mikheil Saakashvili of mass dispersal of protesters on November 7, 2007, intrusion into Imedi TV, and criminal seizure of Badri Patarkatsishvili's property.

To be reminded, the ex-president of Georgia has been charged under the third part of Article 333 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates abuse of official authority, which has led to a substantial violation of the rights of a natural or legal person, society, or state. The mentioned sentence envisages imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years.
