Data Firtskhalava's "A Long Break" has been selected as Georgia’s candidate for the Oscars. The decision was made by a 12-person jury.
Davit Pirtskhalava's film "A Long Break" won the selection competition for a film from Georgia to be submitted for the 2023 Oscar nomination of the American Film Academy.
"A Long Break" was filmed with the support of the National Film Center of Georgia and is Davit Pirtskhalava's debut feature film.
The jury announced the winner on September 15. Davit Pirtskhalava's film received 8 out of 12 votes.

4. "Taming the Garden" - directed by Salome Jashi
5. "Death of Otari" - directed by Ioseb Bliadze
6. "Bullet" - directed by Khatuna Vashadze
The National Film Center of Georgia will present the winning Georgian film to the American Film Academy in the near future.
