Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze marked Didgoroba as a defining moment in Georgian history, celebrating it as a symbol of national unity, resilience, and the triumph of statehood and Christian values.
“August 12, 1121, wasn’t just a military victory—it was the final affirmation of the Georgian state and our Christian foundation,” Kobakhidze said at the commemorative event.
He emphasized that King David the Builder’s leadership, the bravery of Georgian warriors, and the nation's unity led to a "mighty miracle" that launched Georgia’s Golden Age.
The Prime Minister also drew a parallel to modern times, calling today's challenges "the modern Didgori", where Georgia must continue fighting for sovereignty, unity, and cultural values.
“When a nation is united and guided by truth, there is no obstacle it cannot overcome. With unity and determination, we will achieve our historic goal,” he stated.
