As part of the Europalia-Georgia festival supported by the Government of Georgia, a concert of outstanding young Georgian musicians - Sandro Gegechkori and Tsotne Zedginidze - was held in the New Church (nieuwe kerk) organized by the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Amare.
The event was attended by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, Tea Tsulukiani, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Davit Solomonia.
The young artists, who have great accomplishments and are already recognized as exceptionally talented musicians, performed works by Western European and Georgian classical composers and their own works for the Dutch listeners. Both musicians are well known to listeners in Georgia and abroad.
In the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Sandro Gegechkori is known for his works performed at Podium Klassiek and Concertgebau in 2022, and for Tsotne Zedginidze, this is his first concert in this country. The concert was well received by the audience. During the festival, Tsotne Zedginidze will perform a solo author's concert in Brussels, after the concert in the fine art center Bozar, the talented musician will meet young Belgian composers, musicians and students of music schools and talk about his creativity and, in general, music.
With the support of the Government of Georgia and the auspices of Europalia-Georgia, from October 4, 2023 to February 2024, about 60 large-scale and diverse events are being held in Belgium and its neighboring countries. For four months, the European public can see two large-scale and historically significant exhibitions of national treasures - Avant-garde in Georgia - 1900-1936 (at the Center of Fine Arts Bozar in Brussels) and Georgia as a Meeting Place (at the Royal Museum of History and Art in Brussels).
