
Irakli Lekvinadze, the Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency, is attending the 21st International Conference on Competition in Berlin organized by the International Competition Network of the Federal Republic of Germany, ICN.
The event is being attended by: Andreas Mundt, President of the Competition Authority of the Federal Republic of Germany; Teresa Moreira, Head of the Competition and Consumer Policies Branch at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD); William Kovacic, Professor of Law at George Washington University; Margrethe Vestager, Executive Vice President of the European Commission; Holly Vedova, Director of Bureau of Competition of the US Federal Trade Commission, etc.
The following issues will be discussed during the conference: competition restrictive agreements/ mechanisms and processes; priorities, new trends and challenges posed by the pandemic; mechanisms for effective enforcement of competition policy and international approaches; methods of cooperation with sector regulators and public organizations, topics of revealing and combating secret deals in public procurement; consumer rights protection, privacy and competition law in digital markets and more.
The conference is being attended by up to 350 participants from 70 countries. Among them are the heads of the Competition Agencies of different countries, MEPs, governmental and international organization officials, lawyers and economic experts, representatives of the academic circle, etc.
The Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency Irakli Lekvinadze is scheduled to meet with the President of the Competition Authority of the Federal Republic of Germany Andreas Mundt. Also, bilateral meetings are planned with the heads of the Competition Agencies of different countries.
