
The 1,768 km long Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline has transported a total of more than 4.2 billion barrels of crude oil (more than 554 million tons) since the beginning of its operation in June 2006 till late September 2023. During the same period, 5,482 tankers were loaded and sent to the world markets.
According to the report of bp Georgia, on January 18, 2023, BTC achieved a significant result by transferring a total of 4 billion barrels of oil.
During the first three quarters of 2023, approximately 171 million barrels (more than 23 million tons) of crude oil exported by BTC were loaded on 238 tankers at the Ceyhan terminal.
BTC currently transports mainly ACG crude oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. BTC also continues to transport other volumes of Caspian crude oil and condensate (from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan).
During the first three quarters of 2023, within the scope of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) operations, bp Georgia's operating expenses were approximately USD 86 million, and capital expenses were USD 25 million.
The shareholders of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Company (BTC Co.) are: bp (30.10%), SOCAR (25.00%), MOL (8.90%), Equinor (8.71%), TPAO (6.53%), Eni (5.00%), TotalEnergies (5.00%), ITOCHU (3.40%), INPEX (2.50%), ExxonMobil (2.50%) and ONGCVidesh (2.36%).
