
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), the average monthly nominal salary in Georgia increased by 11.5% in 2024, rising by GEL 204 compared to the previous year and reaching GEL 1,970.8.
Wage growth was recorded across all sectors. The highest average salary was in the information and communication sector, at GEL 3,923.1 — a modest 1.7% increase. The financial and insurance sector followed with an average of GEL 3,677.6, up by 14.4%, while employees in professional, scientific, and technical activities earned an average of GEL 2,823.4, reflecting a 12.6% rise.
GeoStat also highlighted a continuing gender pay gap. In 2024, women earned an average of GEL 1,591.6, while men earned GEL 2,340.7. Salaries increased by 11.7% for women (GEL 166.2) and 11.5% for men (GEL 240.8). Across almost all sectors, men earned more than women.
In the public sector, average monthly earnings stood at GEL 1,680.5, which is 20.6% lower than in the private sector, where the average was GEL 2,116.5. However, public sector wages saw a 13% increase from last year, compared to a 10.9% rise in the private sector.
Within the entrepreneurial sector, salaries grew by 10.8% (GEL 197.2), reaching an average of GEL 2,024.4. The highest wages in this sector were again in information and communication (GEL 4,007.2, up 1.2%) and professional, scientific, and technical activities (GEL 3,147.4, up 11.9%).
In the non-business and financial sectors, the average salary rose by 13.2%, or GEL 217.2, to reach GEL 1,866.8.
Regionally, Tbilisi and the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region continue to lead in average salary levels.
