
“It is symbolic that today's international conference entitled the Georgian Vine and Wine Culture Research Project - Results and Novelties is being held within the framework of the Wine Days, which was established on the initiative of the Prime Minister and takes place annually across the country,” - the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, said at the conference.
"With this event, we remind the whole society that Georgian wine is part of our culture and history. It is worth noting that within the framework of the Georgian Vine and Wine Culture Research Project, the most important scientific conclusion for Georgia was made, which was important for the positioning of Georgian wine in the international market and it became the main message to the rest of the world that Georgia is the homeland of wine, with an 8000-year continuous history of winemaking,” - Otar Shamugia noted.
22 scientists, researchers and experts from 11 countries of the world (Georgia, Italy, France, Spain, England, the USA, Canada, Israel, Brazil, South Africa, Croatia) are attending the international scientific conference.
Reportedly, the conference aims to provide information on the results and planned future activities within the scientific project of the research of Georgian vine and wine culture to the researchers of the field of viticulture and winemaking and to experts of various disciplines, specialists, interested persons and, in general, to the general public.
Within the conference, scientists and researchers will present reports on the priority areas of future research.
It should be noted that on October 10-12, as part of the Wine Days, Tbilisi is hosting the international scientific conference Georgian Vine and Wine Culture Research Project - Results and Novelties. "The event is organized by the National Wine Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and is supported by the Government of Georgia.
