APM Terminals Poti has posted robust operational growth for the first nine months of 2025, underlining its expanding role as Georgia’s primary Black Sea gateway. The terminal handled 481,473 TEU containers, marking a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Ship traffic also rose, with 268 container vessels calling at the port between January and September 2025—up 13% from 237 vessels in the previous year.
General cargo operations saw even faster growth. The terminal processed 200,768 tons of general cargo during the reporting period, a 24% increase over the 161,179 tons handled in the same timeframe last year.
Ferry cargo volumes reflected positive momentum as well, with car containers up 12% year-on-year. By the end of September, the port had processed 14,914 car containers, compared to 14,461 in 2024.
While the total number of vehicles processed remained relatively stable at 58,342 units, slightly down from 58,511 last year, the strong performance in containerized and general cargo underlines the port’s growing importance in regional trade and logistics.
The sustained growth across key cargo categories reflects ongoing investments and operational efficiencies at APM Terminals Poti, reinforcing its strategic role in facilitating trade across the South Caucasus and beyond.
