“APM Terminals Poti carries on its multi-million dollar investment plan this year as well. Modernization of existing infrastructure and equipment in Georgia's largest port increases capacity, improves safety and efficiency, while at the same time reduces harmful effects on the environment” – the Poti Port reports.
Reportedly, the port has purchased two 40 m3 hydraulic bulk unloading bunkers, which will allow bulk cargo to be unloaded more efficiently, with minimal dust or cargo loss.
“The new bunkers, in addition to providing an increased unloading rate of up to 10,000 MT per day, allow bulk cargo handling to be more efficient and thus reduce the environmental impact.
Two additional bunkers have been built in Poti by APM Terminals' highly skilled local technical and engineering team, which provides even more flexibility to operations," the release stated.
According to Julián Fernández, Managing Director of APM Terminals Poti, investments and continuous improvement of infrastructure will make APM Terminals Poti a very attractive place for partners.
