Flyadeal, a low-cost airline of Saudi Arabia, is entering the Georgian aviation market and is scheduled to start operating simultaneously in two airports of the country, Tbilisi and Batumi, from June.
The representatives of the Union of the Georgian Airports have successfully completed the final stage of negotiations with the airline officials.
Direct flights to the Tbilisi International Airport will be operated from three cities of Saudi Arabia: Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam, while to the Batumi International Airport - from Jeddah and Riyadh.
According to Tamar Archuadze, the Director of the Union of the Georgian Airports, in total, Flyadeal will operate direct regular flights to both airports from Saudi Arabia 15 times a week (from Riyadh to Tbilisi and from Tbilisi to Riyadh - 4 times per week, from Damam to Tbilisi and vice versa - 3 times per week, from Jeddah to Tbilisi and vice versa - 2 times per week, from Jeddah to Batumi and vice versa - 3 times per week, from Riyadh to Batumi and vice versa - 3 times per week).
"We have quite positive expectations for the summer navigation season. The low-cost airline Flyadeal of Saudi Arabia starts operating simultaneously in two international airports of our country. The Union of the Georgian Airports has been actively negotiating with the airline for the last few months," - said Tamar Archuadze.
Saudi Arabia is the owner of Flyadeal, a low-cost airline in Saudi Arabia. The airline initially started operating domestic flights and then expanded its flight area to the neighboring countries. Flyadeal is the owner of 50 Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX.
