“The Anaklia port project is exceptional, including for our company. This is a visionary, forward-looking project that will transform the situation in the region. This project aims to enhance the efficiency of the Middle Corridor, streamlining the transportation of goods from Asia to Europe. Therefore, our company, Jan De Nul, is exactly where it should be,” stated Tim Devolder, the Head of the Georgian office of Jan De Nul NV.
The Ministry of Economy reports that Jan De Nul, one of the world’s largest and most esteemed European maritime construction companies with extensive experience, is undertaking the deepening of the harbour basin and the design and construction of the breakwater in Anaklia. The company has participated in implementing global projects such as the expansion of the Panama Canal, the new Suez Canal in Egypt, a new seaport in Nador, Morocco, the Hamburg port deepening project, and Dubai’s artificial island and coastline.
As the Head of the company’s Georgian office noted, the maritime infrastructure work project in Anaklia is proceeding at full speed.
“We are also a company that transforms situations, and we want to be part of this project. Our company is a global leader in maritime infrastructure construction. We have extensive experience in building breakwaters and deepening coastlines. It is a great honour for us to be part of the development of this new port in Anaklia,” noted Tim Devolder.
