Air Serbia, a new European airline, is set to enter the Georgian aviation market on June 15, 2025. The Georgian Airports Association has announced that the airline will offer direct, regular flights between Belgrade and Tbilisi, operating three times a week with an Airbus A319.
Levan Moseshvili, the General Director of the Georgian Airports Association, noted that this will be the first-ever direct, regular flight between Georgia and Serbia.
“We are thrilled to welcome Air Serbia, the flagship airline of Serbia, to the Georgian aviation market. The Georgian Airports Association has been in discussions with the airline for several years, and recently, these talks intensified. In the final stages of negotiations, TAV Georgia, the operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports, became involved. We have now reached an agreement to operate direct flights between Belgrade and Tbilisi three times a week during the summer season, with year-round service to follow,” said Levan Moseshvili.
Air Serbia, the successor to the original Serbian national airline, Aeroput, founded in 1927, has been expanding its reach in Europe. The Georgian Airports Association also revealed that passenger traffic between Georgia and Serbia increased significantly in 2024, with 16,839 passengers traveling between the two countries—a 66% rise from the previous year.
