The convoy featured domestically produced Georgian military armored vehicles, including the Didgori and Cobra models.
Agile Spirit 2025 officially commenced in Georgia on July 25, marking the 12th iteration of the high-profile military drills hosted by the country. The opening ceremony took place at the NATO–Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi.
The exercise is jointly led by Brigadier General Koba Grigolia, Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces’ Western Command, and Colonel William Cox of the U.S. Georgia National Guard.
Dignitaries attending the launch included representatives from the Georgian Defense Forces, NATO Liaison Office, NATO-Georgia Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP) core team, the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC), the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM), and various defense attachés accredited to Georgia.
This year’s exercise is being conducted in both Georgia and Turkey, reflecting strengthened regional defense cooperation. Activities began on July 21 near Adana Province, Turkey, with a joint U.S.-Turkish airborne operation.
In total, personnel from 11 nations, including Georgia, the United States, and Turkey, are participating, alongside two multinational battalions. Observers from two additional countries are also present to monitor the drills.
Agile Spirit 2025 aims to boost combat readiness, enhance interoperability, and build operational capabilities among allied and partner forces. The exercise is scheduled to conclude on August 6.
