The registration process for political parties wishing to participate in Georgia’s upcoming October 4, 2025 municipal elections has officially concluded, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC).
Out of 17 parties that submitted applications, 14 have been approved and registered, while three were denied registration for failing to meet the legal requirements.
These elections will determine the composition of municipal representative bodies (Sakrebulo) and the mayors of self-governing cities and communities.
The next key deadline for participating parties is September 4, 2025, by which time they must submit their party lists, majoritarian candidates, and mayoral nominees to the appropriate election commissions. Following submission, the CEC will begin reviewing documents and registering candidates.
