After the unique Georgian polyphonic choral folk song - Chakrulo, two still lifes created by the Georgian hyper-realism artist Bruno Vepkhvadze will be sent into space.
The digital version of the paintings - Roman Spring and Harry Potter will first be placed on a memory card, and then in a special capsule and will be sent to space in the fall of 2023, organized by NASA.
It should be noted that both paintings are finalists of the 16th International Competition of American Realistic Painting.
As artist Bruno Vepkhvadze states, 5400 works from 75 countries participated in this competition. The two still lifes created by the Georgian artist were among the finalists.
"It is true that one painting is called Roman Spring, but this work has nothing to do with Italy. White flowers picked in the outskirts of Tbilisi are placed in tha bowl. As for the second painting, I have always read all the adventures of Harry Potter with great interest. I dedicated my Harry Potter to this book," - Bruno Vepkhvadze, the author of the hyper-realistic paintings, said exclusively on the air of Imedi TV.
To be informed, Bruno Vepkhvadze was born in Tbilisi (1986) in the family of artist Giovanni Vepkhvadze. He is the fourth generation of the Vepkhvadze family of artists. He has showed great interest in painting since childhood.
In 2009, Bruno Vepkhvadze graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts named after A. Kutateladze; he is a painting restorer by specialty. His works are preserved in private collections both in Georgia and abroad.
