
Wizz Air has officially resumed its direct regular flights between Tbilisi and Madrid. The inaugural flight, operated with an Airbus A321neo, departed from Kutaisi Davit Aghmashenebeli International Airport on Tuesday, April 29, carrying 230 passengers.
The Tbilisi–Madrid–Tbilisi route will run twice weekly, with scheduled flights every Tuesday and Saturday. In addition to Madrid, Wizz Air also offers service to Barcelona, further strengthening air links between Georgia and Spain.
According to first-quarter data for 2025, 2,988 Georgian passengers traveled to Spain, highlighting growing demand for travel between the two countries.
Davit Aghmashenebeli Kutaisi International Airport currently offers direct regular flights to 32 destinations across 18 countries, served by six airlines. Of these, 24 destinations are located in Europe.
The airport’s network continues to expand, with a new direct flight to Lyon, France, set to launch on June 3.
