Within 8 months, Russian citizens bought more than 15,000 buildings and up to 14,000 plots of land in Georgia

From January 1 to September 9, 2022, the property rights of 12,335 citizens of the Russian Federation were registered on 15,164 buildings and structures, of which 13,262 are residential apartments. Additionally, based on data of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, in the same period, 10,975 citizens of the Russian Federation registered property rights on 13,850 plots of land in Georgia.

Moreover, in the same period, property rights of 3,771 citizens of the Russian Federation were registered relating to 4,390 real estate, while 73 citizens of the Russian Federation registered property rights on 93 commercial premises.

The above-mentioned information was obtained using the electronic and automatic management tools of the National Agency of Public Registry, according to the real estate registered on the basis of personal/passport numbers.

As for the previous years, as mentioned in the information provided by the Ministry, in 2020, 2,366 citizens of the Russian Federation registered property rights on 2,701 real estate, while in 2021, the relevant figures were 3,739 and 4,332 respectively.
