“With the help of the agricultural program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and partners, we launched a qualitatively new, innovative product "Export Market Connections Program", which will help Georgian agricultural companies to export their products,” - Mikheil Khidureli, the Director of the Enterprise Georgia Agency, said.
According to Mikheil Khidureli, promotion of export growth is one of the agency's priorities, and for this purpose a special program "Business Export" was recently introduced in the direction of entrepreneurship.
"We always try to offer innovative approaches to Georgian businesses in this regard. This time, together with the USAID Agriculture Program and the Georgian Rural Development Agency, we introduced a new program, the main goal of which is to hire export experts and consultants to help agribusinesses to get their products into specific markets and stores in different countries. It can be safely said that we are ahead of many leading foreign agencies with this innovation, because it is a very modern and one of the most effective methods through which foreign experts will help Georgian agro-companies to export their products," - said Mikheil Khidureli.
The goal of the new Export Market Connections Program is to link Georgian producers with interested buyers in Germany and Persian Gulf countries. It also noted about 80 export-oriented enterprises producing blueberry and walnut crops and processing food were selected for the program. In addition, the program aims to help the Georgian companies find buyers in target export markets and establish business deals.
The "Export Market Connections Program" is being implemented through the Georgian Agro-Export Group, which was jointly established by the USAID Agriculture Program, the Enterprise Georgia Agency, and the Georgian Rural Development Agency.
