“With the construction of an artificial island in Batumi, we will create a new life for the local microflora,” – one of the investors of the Ambassador Batumi Island, Pridon Katamadze, said.
The mentioned issue became especially relevant after it became clear that the artificial island would be built in the vicinity of the port at the entrance of Batumi, Georgia’s Black Sea coastal town.
"The Port of Batumi has existed for almost a hundred years, and as you know, oil was being transported from the oil terminal located in this water area. Today, this water area is the most polluted with oil products. What we are going to create will cover this polluted area; we will recultivate this microflora that is imperfect in the part of the sea", - Pridon Katamadze stated.
To be reminded, the construction of two artificial peninsulas and one artificial island in Batumi officially started in September of this year. The project is provided by the Ambassador Batumi Island, whose shareholders are Property Assets Investment LTD and a Georgian businessman Pridon Katamadze.
