The Bank of Georgia actively continues to implement projects and support businesses with its partners. For this purpose, the Bank and the EBRD signed a partnership agreement with Batumi Grand Mall, as a result of which a new shopping center will be opened in Batumi.
The total cost of the project is 20 million euros, the amount of the loan is 7 million euros, which will be fully used to complete the construction of the shopping center. As part of the partnership, the company will additionally receive a grant from the EBRD's FINTECC program, the donors of which are the European Union and the Global Environment Facility, for energy-efficient installations and building materials.
"We are glad that with the support of the Bank of Georgia and the EBRD, we started the construction of a new shopping center in Batumi, the area of which is 24,000 sq.m. The new mall will open in autumn 2023, where more than 100 brands will be represented. Among them, Massimo Dutti, ZARA, Mango, Stradivarius, Tommy Hilfiger, Gant, Guess, US Polo and others. The mall will hold food outlets and a cinema, as well as fitness and children's entertainment centers. It is important that the building of the shopping center will be energy efficient, which will reduce energy consumption to 35%", - Batumi Grand Mall investor, Amiran Darchidze, said.
"Business promotion is one of the constant priorities of the Bank of Georgia. This is the purpose of the signing of the mentioned contract, which is aimed at the further development of the business. This is a very important project, not only for Batumi, but for the country as a whole, as it will contribute to the economic strengthening of the region. New jobs will also be created, where according to the current data, more than 750 people will be employed", - Otar Svanidze, the Director of the Corporate Banking Services Department of the Bank of Georgia, said.
