
The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is hosting the 14th Annual Conference of the American Association of Wine Economists. More than 100 wine economists from around the world, including the USA, Germany, the UK, Japan, Hungary, France, Canada, Australia, South Africa, the Netherlands and Italy, are participating in the conference.
As the President of the America-Georgia Business Council, Mamuka Tsereteli, told journalists, many ideas were voiced at the conference regarding how the Georgian wine should be introduced to the American and other international markets.
"Economists from the leading countries of the world are participating in the conference. The event is a good way to raise awareness so that Georgia is known as the country of wine. The conference participants will share knowledge on how to export wine to the American and other markets. Many ideas were voiced about how the Georgian wine can gain a place in international markets. Wine is one of the important elements of the Georgian economy; naturally there are many methods of increasing this awareness of Georgia and the influence it has on the national league," - Mamuka Tsereteli said.
To be informed, the conference will continue tomorrow as well, and then a two-day tour to Kakheti and Kartli is planned.
