The Georgian Football Federation has announced a new cooperation agreement with head coach Willy Sagnol, extending his contract until 2028.
Willy Sagnol, who took charge in February 2021, has overseen 42 matches, achieving 20 wins, 6 draws, and 16 losses. His tenure has been one of the most successful in Georgian football history; under his leadership, the national team qualified for the European Championship for the first time, reaching the round of 16 at Euro 2024. Following their victory in the UEFA Nations League C League, Georgia is now competing in League B.
Beginning in 2025, Sagnol will guide the team through the qualification stage for the 2026 World Cup, with the group stage draw set for December 13, as stated by UEFA.
