
Against the backdrop of increased cargo flow, Georgia is actively working on expanding bilateral intergovernmental agreements on international road traffic. As the Land Transport Agency stated, based on the study of cargo flows in the direction of Georgia, as well as passenger requests for international passenger traffic and the proposals of carriers, the agency permanently conducts negotiations on the signing of bilateral intergovernmental agreements on the international road traffic with partner countries.
Drafts of intergovernmental agreements in the field of road traffic with the Republic of Georgia, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Slovenia, Turkmenistan, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Turkey (new version), Mongolia and Serbia were recently prepared with the active participation of the Agency.
"International level meetings are systematically held in the field of road traffic with competent representatives of partner countries in the format of a bilateral mixed commission. In 2021-2022, bilateral meetings with the Republics of Turkey, Kazakhstan and Slovakia were held. Also, by the end of this year, meetings with Serbia and Lithuania are planned," - the Agency said.
