
In the first quarter of 2023, the export of mineral and fresh waters from Georgia decreased by 20.2%. According to official statistics, the country earned $26.1 million from the sale of mineral waters in January-March and, thus, ranked 8th among the largest export commodities with a share of 1.8%.
Georgia's top trading partners by mineral water exports was Russia. In the reporting period, 61.7% of water exports was distributed to Russia. However, despite the total decrease in the sale of mineral waters, the export to Russia increased by 12%.
The ranking of 10 exporting countries is as follows:
1. Russia - $16.1 million, 29,624 tons;
2. Kazakhstan - $3 million, 3 954 tons;
3. Lithuania - $2.2 million, 3 023 tons;
4. Uzbekistan - $1.7 million, 1 949 tons;
5. Belarus - $372 thousand, 879 tons;
6. Germany - $349 thousand, 302 tons;
7. Moldova - $285 thousand, 325 tons;
8. The USA - $268 thousand, 528 tons;
9. Tajikistan - $246 thousand, 248 tons;
10. Latvia - $243 thousand, 508 tons.
