The National Environmental Agency has forecasted rain across most regions of Georgia on March 19-20, with the possibility of snow in higher mountainous areas, potentially heavy in some locations.
Meteorologists also predict strong winds and 4-5 point storms at sea along the coast.
In Georgia's mountainous regions, melting snow due to rising temperatures, combined with heavy rainfall, could lead to significant increases in river water levels, causing flooding, riverbed overflow in certain areas, and inundation of surrounding territories. Flash floods may occur in small rivers of Eastern Georgia.
There is also a high risk of avalanches in the country's high mountainous areas, as well as the potential for landslides and mudflows to develop or intensify in hilly and mountainous regions.
