According to the data of the first six months of 2023, the airports of Georgia hosted up to 2,500,000 passengers, therefore, in January-June, their passenger flow data equaled the pre-pandemic level, - said Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Developmen of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili.
“The positive dynamics in the country's airports is the result of the correct strategy and action plan implemented by the government in this regard. As for the half-year data according to specific airports: the Tbilisi International Airport served 1,566,251 passengers. The increase compared to the same period of 2022 is 35%. At the same time, the airport returned 84% to the number of passengers recorded in the first six months of 2019. In addition, it is important that there is a positive dynamic of passenger flow growth not only in the international airports, but also in the domestic destinations of the country - Mestia, Ambrolauri and Natakhtari airports.
The current situation in terms of the growth and improvement of the passenger flow of both international and domestic airports, of course, contributes to the further strengthening of the aviation industry, as well as the tourism sector in the country", - Mariam Kvrivishvili stated.
