Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Siarto and Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili held a joint press conference.

In her speech, Siarto said, “It was also very important to invite Madam Minister because Georgia is the best example of the outrageous and scandalous double standard that has emerged: if a liberal party wins the election in a country, then democracy is said to be thriving; however, if a patriotic government or party wins, they talk about a crisis of democracy.”

“Thank you very much, Madam Minister, for accepting our invitation to Budapest to participate and deliver a presentation at the meeting of ambassadors. I regard your presence as very important at this meeting because Georgia is the most spectacular example of two things here in Europe. The first is that Georgia exemplifies how the international liberal mainstream strives to terminate governments that stand on a patriotic foundation, where the implementation of national interest is the most important issue—governments that base their political strategies on conservative and Christian ideas.

We will provide every possible support to him to ensure his success in these endeavours. Therefore, we welcome the fact that USAID sources have been cut, as these sources represented the financial foundation for intervention into the internal affairs of other countries, breaching or violating their sovereignty. At the same time, we call for the strictest investigation to shed light on the politicians and journalists involved, as well as the organizations that utilized foreign sources to serve foreign interests. In this investigative process, we are greatly aided by the fact that many who betray themselves are actually calling out for the cut in support,” Siarto stated.
