Vasile Dîncu, the Chair of the European Affairs Committee of the Romanian Senate said his country’s Government strongly supported not only the integration of Georgia into the European Union, but also its accession to NATO.
The Romanian official stressed Georgia’s “recent progress” with “important projects” implemented in civil society, defence and security policy.
"Georgia is a country with a European culture, and we, Romanian politicians - whether in the Parliament or in the Government - strongly support the European integration of Georgia and Moldova”, Vasile Dîncu continued.
Dîncu also added it was “important for the European Union itself” that Georgia and Moldova, two states of the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood initiative, became members of the “European family”.
