“We should have respected the results of the elections but instead we are meddling in what is going on. I think we have to have a constructive approach with Georgia,” said MEP Danilo Della Valle at the ordinary meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

According to the MEP, the EU needs to cooperate with the Georgian government.

Looking at the Georgian issue, I am quite surprised that we still have to talk about the question that should have been dealt with long ago. We should have respected the results of the elections but instead, we are meddling in what is going on.

I think we have to have a constructive approach with Georgia and try to understand, really, that is the attitude we have. We need to talk with them, have a dialogue, we need cooperation with the Georgian government,” he said.
