“The 2023 results for the tourism and aviation industries are particularly impressive. In addition, we have very ambitious plans that the current year will be a year of new success, new historical results and record data,” - the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, said, who presented the summary report of the 2023 results of these industries and the current year's plans.
"Georgia earned 4.1 billion US dollars from the tourism industry. A record passenger flow (more than 6 million passengers) was seen in all three international airports of Georgia. Last year, we introduced the largest number of new airlines to Georgia - 9 airlines and added 21 new direct destinations to our aviation market, of which 8 are European ones. We have a significant improvement in all parameters of aviation, therefore, the passenger flow has increased, and all this has a positive effect on the tourist flows", Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.
According to the Deputy Economy Minister, the task of the government is that the strengthening of the tourism industry reflects the quality of life and well-being of the entire society, citizens, and the tourism sector remains one of the important contributors to the strengthening of the country's economy - to create new jobs in all regions.
