Maaike van Koldam, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Georgia, states that as a member state of the EU, the Netherlands fully shares the concerns expressed in the EU's statements regarding the resumption of direct flights between Russia and Georgia.
"The European Union issued two statements regarding flights to Russia. The Netherlands is a member of the European Union, and of course I agree with these statements of the European Union, which express concern about the resumption of flights, because the European Union expects from Georgia, as far as possible, to be in line with the foreign policy of the European Union, and also expresses concern about the safety of flights. So, we share these statements of the European Union," the Ambassador noted.
Additionally, according to her, as regards the granting of EU candidate status to Georgia, it is necessary to comply with the recommendations of the European Commission for the above.
"As for the candidate status, there are 12 priorities that must be fully fulfilled. All parties should do their best to fulfill these priorities, to work together, to overcome disagreements and polarization," the Ambassador said.
