“We are doing everything today to ensure energy security in different countries, and we are cooperating and deepening cooperation in this regard. This is part of our agenda, and we are very happy to participate and willing to participate in infrastructure projects that were discussed, be it the Anaklia port or any other direction,” - President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at a joint briefing after meeting with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili.
"We own the port of Kulevi on the coast of the Black Sea in Georgia. We can also extend this port. This will further strengthen our cooperation. In the direction of the Baku-Tbilisi railway, we will increase the performance by five times; we will do everything for it. This will be the largest component in the direction of development of our Middle Corridor. The collaboration on green energy projects and the ongoing technical-economic study will soon be completed,” - Ilham Aliyev said.
President Aliyev expressed confidence in achieving tangible results in the form of planned investments that will contribute to the energy security of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and partner countries.
“All these projects implemented in Georgia, Azerbaijan, and our partner countries are of vital importance, not only for the South Caucasus but also for the Eurasian continent. Our political will is very strong. By using and expanding existing infrastructure, by developing our friendship and strategic partnership, we will be able to achieve it,” - President Aliyev said.
