The government of Georgia announced the launch of several legal employment programs abroad, including the seasonal works in Germany, last year. Georgian citizens have not been legally employed in other countries yet.
According to the Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Barkalaia, the negotiations are underway with Bulgaria and France. As Barkalaia said, “the work continues in both directions, although the processes have been temporarily hampered by the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine”.
The Deputy Health Minister said that in the case of Bulgaria, the Georgian side was already waiting for the appropriate vacancies from them, while negotiations were underway in France to develop a program. According to Tamar Barkalaia, the legal employment program is also planned with Cyprus.
"This will be a small number of vacancies and we will look at how the citizens of Georgia and the French side will benefit from this type of cooperation. The negotiations are underway with several countries, including Cyprus, but I would also like to acknowledge that the war ongoing in Ukraine has led to a general migration crisis and, therefore, all EU countries are reassessing their needs, and this is the process we are waiting for until we continue active negotiations," - Tamar Barkalaia said.
To be informed, in addition to Bulgaria, France and Cyprus, Georgian citizens are being actively trained for legal employment in Israel. A total of 119 people are taking the training course.
