“One of our main priorities and tasks is to foster the development of sports, particularly the growth of sports infrastructure,” stated the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, during his speech at the handball players’ award ceremony.
As the head of government emphasized, the Georgian government has ambitious plans for the advancement of sports.
“With the success of sports, we are seeing growing interest, particularly among children, in participating in sports, which brings me great joy. However, our current infrastructure unfortunately cannot keep up with this increasing demand,” Kobakhidze noted.
“One of our key objectives is to develop sports infrastructure. We have already announced a GEL 2 billion project that will create entirely new infrastructure catering to both elite and recreational sports,” he continued.
“I assure you that special attention will be dedicated to the development of handball within this project. We will focus extensively on supporting handball and our national team,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
