The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said it was “no coincidence” that the main theme of next year’s World Tourism Day - set to be celebrated in Georgia - would be “Peace and Tourism”.
"It is symbolic that the main theme of Tourism Day will be ‘Peace and Tourism’, and it is symbolic that our country, our city was chosen to host this important event. We will host delegations of many countries with dignity”, he said.
Last week, 38 countries of the Commission for Europe of the United Nations’ World Tourism Organization chose Georgia as the host country for next year’s date, with the selection made at their 68th meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria.
