Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy, asserts that the economic growth observed in 2024 has had a favorable impact on the labor market, as evidenced by the historically low unemployment rate of 13.9%. The number of employed individuals reached an unprecedented level, increasing by 68,000 to a total of 1,402,000.
Tsintsadze emphasized Georgia’s robust economic expansion, with a growth rate of 9.5% in 2024, which contributed to a rise in both employed and self-employed individuals.
"Analyzing the labor market, it is evident that workforce expansion is accompanied by increased employment, signaling positive labor market trends and overall structural improvements," he stated.
The Deputy Minister anticipates sustained high economic growth in 2025.
"We expect to maintain a strong pace of economic growth in 2025, which will further enhance labor market conditions, increase employment, reduce unemployment, and contribute to higher wages. Additionally, we anticipate greater wealth generation, which will strengthen the purchasing power of the population," he remarked.
