“We are grateful for the initiative of the Georgian Post, which allows the people of Georgia to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine completely free of charge. We have an extraordinary tie with the Georgian Post. It is vital for us that the post office continues to work as usual, for which the Georgian Post stands by us. We distributed the first part of the aid (including various products, clothes, food, items needed for children, medical care, etc.) sent to us from Georgia to those regions that now need special assistance. We are very grateful for this support," - the Director of International Operations Department at Ukrposht, Ukraine's national postal operator, Julia Pavlenko, said an interview with the Georgian Public Broadcaster.
The Georgian Post has been sending up to 200 tons of humanitarian cargo to Ukraine since February 28.
At the same time, the Georgian Post has received from individuals and sent up to 6 tons of humanitarian parcels to Ukraine free of charge since February 28.
