
“In connection with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and Georgia, two postage stamps were printed,” the Italian Embassy reports.
The Embassy stated the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and Georgia, which is taking place against the background of excellent relations in the political, economic, scientific and cultural fields, is being completed with an extraordinary joint initiative: two anniversary postage stamps were printed and put into circulation. Both the stamp prepared by the Ministry of Italian Enterprises and Italian Products, as well as on the stamp issued by the Georgian Post, depict the Bichvinta Cathedral painted by the Italian monk, Cristoforo de Castelli.
"The 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Georgia gives us the opportunity to look back not only at the path we have traveled together over the last three decades, but also at the centuries-old tradition of friendship and mutual cooperation between the two countries," - the Ambassador of Italy to Georgia, Enrico Valvo said.
In addition, the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia will hold a presentation of the postage stamp printed by the Italian State Mint and Polygraphic Institute (circulation: 350,010 pieces, value "B" tariff: 2.40 euros) and another one issued by the Georgian Post (circulation: 20,000 pieces, value: 7 GEL). The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Guram Guramishvili, the Italian Ambassador to Georgia Enrico Valvo and the Director General of the Georgian Post Levan Chikvaidze will take part in the event.
