
“Georgia’s progress, development, peace, and stability are of great significance for Türkiye — both in terms of our bilateral relations and within the wider regional context,” stated Ali Kaan Orbay, Ambassador of Türkiye to Georgia, during an event marking the 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
Reflecting on his country’s journey since independence, Ambassador Orbay noted that Türkiye has made remarkable strides in development and modernization.
“Today, we celebrate 102 years since the founding of the Republic of Türkiye — a day of deep national importance. Throughout this period, our country has made significant progress, taking major steps toward development and growth. With a population of 82 million, Türkiye ranks 16th globally in economic strength and serves as a reliable partner and friend to many nations,” he said.
The Ambassador emphasized that Türkiye’s relationship with Georgia is one of close friendship and strategic partnership. “Türkiye has consistently reaffirmed its unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. These principles are the foundation of our shared future and the continued strengthening of our partnership,” he stressed.
Ambassador Orbay also underlined the economic dimension of bilateral ties. “Today, approximately 2,000 Turkish companies operate in Georgia, contributing significantly to your country’s economy. Türkiye’s total investments in Georgia exceed USD 2.5 billion, demonstrating our commitment to Georgia’s progress and prosperity,” he added.
Concluding his remarks, Orbay reaffirmed Türkiye’s belief in Georgia’s potential and future. “Türkiye sincerely believes in Georgia’s bright path ahead. We stand with you and wish your nation continued peace, progress, and development,” he said.
