According to the data of EastFruit-Georgia for 11 months of the current year, the country's import in the horticulture sector has increased by 30%, i.e. from $74 million to $ 96 million in 2021.
The first three markets from which Georgia imports are as follows:
1. Turkey - with the revenue of $ 36 million
2. Ecuador - with the revenue of $ 23 million, which is the top exporter of bananas to Georgia.
3. Uzbekistan - with the revenue of $ 7 million. It should be noted that Uzbekistan increased its exports to Georgia by 80% year-on-year, as Turkey partially limited its supply to satisfy its own market.
All the above trade numbers exclude December for both 2021 and 2022 as the month is not over yet, but the overall picture of the Georgian external trade in fruits, nuts, and vegetables will not change even with December’s data.
