During a Cabinet meeting, Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze commented on President Trump’s announcement of an ambitious plan to challenge the 'Deep State,' expressing hope that this effort would contribute to his success and, in turn, foster global peace and promote positive societal values.
Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of success in this initiative for the normalization of Georgian-U.S. relations.
"Today marks a pivotal moment with the inauguration of a new U.S. president. The previous four years have been difficult for both the United States and the global community, marked by numerous crises such as the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, a severe economic downturn in Europe, and the widespread influence of pseudo-liberal propaganda. Furthermore, the rise of liberal authoritarianism has become an increasing concern during this time.
On the domestic front, Georgia has faced multiple attempts at revolution, with peace remaining elusive both within our borders and globally. We remain hopeful that the next four years will bring stability and peace, benefiting both the world and our country.
President Trump's plan to confront the 'Deep State' is a significant undertaking, and we wish him success in this endeavor. A victory in this fight is vital for the normalization of Georgian-U.S. relations and could pave the way for greater global peace, particularly in our region, while promoting healthier values in contrast to those that have emerged in recent years.
We reaffirm our commitment to renewing and strengthening the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States. We are optimistic about the progress to be made in this regard, with 2025 set to be a critical year for advancing our bilateral relationship," Kobakhidze concluded.
