Tripadvisor, a popular travel platform recommends Georgian ski resort Gudauri among “the 5 underrated European ski towns to visit this winter.”
“Located just two hours from Tbilisi (you can book a private transfer that will cost about $60 or take a marshrutka minivan for a little over $3.50), Gudauri Ski Resort is a budget-friendly trip, with ski passes running about $9 a day. Ski rentals are less than $20. If you’re a more experienced skier, don’t miss the weekend night skiing.
When you have some downtime, take one of the many gondolas to the resort’s slopeside restaurants and bars for cocktails at Gudauri Travel Bar and or khachapuri, a traditional Georgian cheese-filled bread, at The Drunk Cherry,” reads the article.
The other four ski resorts described in the article are Poiana Braşov (Romania), Bansko (Bulgaria), Baqueira-Beret (Spain) and El Tarter (Andorra).
Yolanda Evans, the author of the article visited Georgia within the framework of the press tour regularly organized by the Georgian National Tourism Administration to popularize the country’s tourist destinations.
