As part of the marketing campaign of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, the famous historian and TV presenter Bettany Hughes prepared a documentary film about Georgia for the "TREASURES OF THE WORLD" program. The third season of the program starts on April 6, and the premiere of the 46-minute film about Georgia is scheduled for April 20.
Bettany Hughes describes Vardzia, the Vani Archaeological Museum, Svaneti, Tbilisi, the UNESCO cultural heritage sites, archaeological materials, cultural treasures of the country, castles and towers, temples and the Georgian alphabet in the film.
In the film, historian and TV presenter Bettany Hughes introduces the audience to the legend of the Golden Fleece, Svan towers, medieval icons preserved in Svaneti churches, the Queen Tamar Vardzia fresco, Khertvisi Castle, the architecture of Old Tbilisi and the ancient archaeological samples found in Dmanisi.
The film presents Qvevri, the eight-thousand-year history of the Georgian wine production, unique Georgian music, polyphonic songs and culinary traditions.
Bettany Hughes's program "TREASURES OF THE WORLD" presents the history and culture of different countries of the world. The program cycle has been in production since 2021 and is popular in both the UK and the US.
