Previously, on March 23, KazTransOil transported the first batch of 9,959,000 tons of oil from the Tengiz field from the Aktau port to the Sangachal terminal in Baku with the President Heydar Aliyev tanker, and its transit through the BTC pipeline was carried out by SOCAR Midstream Operations, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan's state company SOCAR. started. An additional 10,000 tons of Kazakh oil will pass through the same route by the end of the month.
Thus, in March, approximately 20,000 tons of oil will be shipped entirely from the Tengiz field via BTC.
As for April, the shipping volume increases noticeably. According to KazTransOil, the planned volume of oil transportation in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan direction for April is 125,000 tons.
KazTransOil was planning oil transit for further transportation from Aktau port of Kazakhstan to Baku through BTC pipeline back in February. However, due to the temporary suspension of handling operations at the Ceyhan terminal as a result of force majeure, the shipment did not start. Tengizchevroil, the operator of the Tengiz field development, said at the time that supplies had been disrupted due to the earthquakes in Turkey.
