The training lasted for 1 week in the administrative building of the Mtirala National Park. Davit Iosebashvili, Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas, together with the directors of the mentioned territorial administrations, attended the opening part of the event.
The training course covers important issues such as resource management, visitor services, public relations and environmental education, law enforcement and rescue, sustainable infrastructure and institutional strengthening.
The Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas spoke about the importance of the training course and noted that it aims to share the best international practices to achieve a globally compatible quality and standard of the protected area governance and management.
The Kolkheti and Mtirala National Parks and the Kintrishi and Kobuleti Protected Areas belong to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Sharing the international best practices will help properly manage, protect the biodiversity and promote the ecotourism of the protected areas as a supreme public value.
